Fees and Payments Policy

This policy is a part of our Terms & Conditions. By setting up a store on Crafts n’ Things, you are agreeing both to this policy and our Terms of Use.

In this policy we aim to explain all fees that Sellers may be required to pay. Please note that all fees are listed exclusive of any value-added tax (VAT).

1. Types of Fees

Listing Fees
Listing fees will only apply to our free subscription plan (“Hobby”). You will be charged a listing fee of £0.15 GBP for each completed order. This will be automatically deducted from your earnings. On all paid subscription plans the listing fee does not apply and will not be charged.

Subscription Fees
Crafts n’ Things sellers need to choose a subscription plan in order to be able to start selling. You have four different plans to choose from, the first one being free (no recurring payments for subscription, additional fees for selling may apply).

Every subscription plan offers different features, depending on your business’ needs. Commission on sales are also different in every plan.

The fee for a Crafts n’ Things Subscription Plan varies from £0.00 to £4.99 GBP per month (VAT included).

Subscription fees will be charged to your chosen payment method on the same day every month, or every year with annual subscription, in GBP. For example, if you sign up on 1st July, your subscription fees will be charged again on the 1st August, and so on. When you sign up at the end of the month, your subscription fees will be charged to your payment method on the last day of the month. For example, if you sign up on 31st January, your subscription fees will be charged again on 28th or 29th January, because that is the last day of the month. You can cancel your Crafts n’ Things subscription anytime by visiting the “Subscription” section of your Dashboard. You will have access to your Crafts n’ Things subscription until the end of that subscription cycle, and your final day of access will also be identified in the “Subscription” section of your Dashboard. After your Crafts n’ Things subscription has ended, your shop will return to “Hobby” Subscription Package, which has no subscription fees, and you will no longer have a subscription fee added to your payment account.

If you cancel your subscription after it renews on the first of the month or year, you’ll still be responsible for paying the full subscription fee for that month or year, depending on the billing cycle chosen. There will be no refunds on seller subscriptions once paid.

Every subscription has a limit on the number of products you can create on your Store. If a paid subscription is cancelled, all products will go into “Draft Mode”, not deleted. For example, if you are subscribed to the “Masterpiece” plan, which allows an unlimited number of products, and you wish to cancel your subscription, you will automatically go back from “Masterpiece” to “Hobby” plan. “Hobby” allows up to 10 products on your store. Before you cancelled you had 50 products live on your Store, once you go back to Hobby all 50 products will go from “Live” to “Draft”, and you will be able to choose up to 10 products only to be “Live” again. The other 40 products will stay in “Draft Mode”, but won’t get deleted.

Sale Commission Fees
When you make a sale through Crafts n’ Things, you will be charged a sale commission fee. The amount will vary depending on the Seller Subscription Plan chosen. These are the fees for each plan:

  • HOBBY (£0.00 /month) → £0.15 + VAT listing fee → 10% + VAT commission on sales
  • CREATIVE (£1.99 /month) → FREE listing fee → 10% + VAT commission on sales
  • ARTISTIC (£2.99 /month) → FREE listing fee → 8% + VAT commission on sales
  • MASTERPIECE (£4.99 /month) → FREE listing fee → 6% + VAT commission on sales

Payment Processing Fees

When you make a sale through Crafts n’ Things, you will be charged a transaction fee. The amount will depend on the payment method used by the customer to pay for their order on your Store. We aim to keep the transaction fee rates shown on this policy up to date. However, these third-party companies can update their fees before we update this policy. The rates shown below are only for guidance, and the correct rate charged will always be the one shown on the third-party payment method’ conditions.

  • Paying with credit or debit card via Stripe with UK Cards: 1.4% + 0.20 GBP on order total.
  • Paying with credit or debit card via Stripe with International Cards: 2.9% + 0.20 GBP on order total.
  • Paying with PayPal: rates can vary from 1.2% to 2.9%, + £0.30 GBP fixed fee.

Transaction fees may be deducted automatically from your total order earnings or charged afterwards by Crafts n’ Things separately. If the fee is automatically deducted, you will be able to see how much was charged in the order details, from your Dashboard.

2. Fee Avoidance

Any action by a seller to avoid paying a fee is considered fee avoidance and is strictly prohibited by Crafts n’ Things. This includes, for example, encouraging buyers to purchase an item in your Crafts n’ Things Store through another venue. A transaction initiated on Crafts n’ Things may not be completed off of Crafts n’ Things. The price stated in each listing description must be an accurate representation of the sale. Sellers may not alter the item’s price after a sale for the purpose of avoiding Crafts n’ Things transaction fees, misrepresent the item’s location, or use another user’s account without permission.

3. Paying your Fees

Usually, Crafts n’ Things will automatically deduct your fees (excluding VAT) from a completed order. Your earnings will be automatically added into your seller’s balance, or sent into your Stripe account if it has been linked.

Applicable VAT on any fees will be invoiced and charged separately. If you have had any sales, Crafts n’ Things will invoice you the applicable VAT on commission and listing fees separately twice a month. You will receive this invoice by email, which will include a payment link. These invoices will usually be due in the next 14 days from the date the invoice was sent, or the account will be considered past due, and Crafts n’ Things may charge your card on file or take other actions to collect funds.

Crafts n’ Things may suspend your selling privileges at any time if you have any pending payment.

If you have any questions on outstanding invoices, you can contact us at invoices@craftsnthings.co.uk.

3. Taxes

Aside from the limited circumstances set out below, you are responsible for collecting and paying any taxes/VAT associated with using and making sales through Crafts n’ Things’ services.

Once you create a product, you must specify if the product is taxable or not (in case you are registered for taxes). You are responsible for setting up products’ tax correctly. If tax does not apply to you, you should not add tax to your products.

Please remember that Crafts n’ Things’ fees do not include any withholding taxes that might apply. You are required to pay Crafts n’ Things the full amount of our fees and may not deduct any applicable withholding taxes from that amount.

Crafts n’ Things will not handle, collect, or remit taxes on behalf of any seller.

VAT on Subscription Fees
VAT will be applied to the seller’s subscription plan chosen.

VAT on Selling Fees
VAT is collected on all Crafts n’ Things fees for sellers (see Section 3. Paying your Fees).x
